This year Dubby's is doing a Tournament Series. There will be Three tournaments. At the end of the series a Champion Team will be announced based on Total Pounds for the series. Any team can fish any tournament but to be eligible for the Championship award a team must fish all Three of the events. The entry fee will be $90.00 per tournament. $70.00 will go to the payout of the current tournament. $5.00 will go to Big fish of the current tournament. $10.00 will go to the Pounds Champion Team at the end of the Series and $5.00 will go to the Big Fish Champion Team of the Series.

Be aware that Rules for this Tournament are for your protection but are not all the rules. Activities like this require additional common sense safety precautions. Please apply these as you are a part of this tournament or any activity in the outdoors.

Dubby's Catfish Tournament Rules

 

  1. Team cancellation request must be received 72 hours in advance of the start of the tournament for refund. Any team that pre-registers and does not show (All Registered Team Members Must Fish) is considered a forfeit.
  2. Up to 3 persons on a team (no less than 2. No single man team allowed for safety reasons). Up to 2 substitutions will be allowed during the series but an original member of the original team must be in each of those tournaments.
  3. Off Limits are any Commercially owned bodies of water period, any Private or Posted bodies of water or any bodies of water restricted by State or Local Authorities. You may not use private access to any water that any other team can't use. Any bodies of water outside of a 60 mile radius of Dubby's Fishing and Hunting. 
  4. Legal Species by Virginia and West Virginia Regulations: Channel Cat, Blue Cat, Flathead Cat or White Cat only. ALL OTHER GAME AND NON-GAME SPECIES ARE NOT ALLOWED.
  5. Each Team Member must have a Valid Virginia or West Virginia State or County Fishing license.
  6. There is a 5 Fish Limit. Winner will be determined by the total weight of tournament catch. No more than 5 fish may be brought to weigh-in. Teams are responsible to have their fish ready to be weighed. Fish do not have to be alive but remember (LIVE FISH WEIGH MORE)
  7. You must finish the tournament with the same marked vehicle and or vehicle and boat that you started with. You cannot have aid with transportation, driving the boat, retrieving or transporting fish. Boats and vehicles will be marked for identification and license plates & boat registration numbers will be documented and verified by staff at boat inspection before departure and at the check-in station.
  8. Proper boat registration numbers and papers are required.
  9. Each boat must have the following safety equipment. (Proper running lights, fire extinguisher, horn or whistle, life jackets for each individual in the boat, one throwable, and any fan boats or air-boats must have shroud protecting the fan blades. Each team member must wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket anytime the boat is running faster than no wake.
  10. After Checking in you may depart from Dubby’s Fishing and Hunting Parking Lot. Teams may leave after they have been checked in and their vehicles marked.
  11. Scouting is allowed. There is a One Week (7 Days) Off Limits, any Team that is on Public waters fishing for anything one week prior to the start of the tournament will be disqualified.
  12. Each team will be given two tokens with their team number on it. A team member must return one token to a staff member at the entrance of Dubby’s Fishing and Hunting  by 1:00 P.M. EASTERN TIME. Any teams that hands in a token after 1:00P.M. will have 1/2Lb deducted per minute of being late. After 15 minutes the teams total weight will be disqualified. The other token will be given to a staff member at your teams weigh in.
  13. Only nets will be allowed in boats or on the bank during the tournament for landing big fish. Gaffs, snares or gigs are NOT allowed.
  14. All fish must be caught with rod and reel.
  15. Fish can be placed in water or on ice to preserve weight, however, any dumping of boat water, fish water, or fish remains on the grounds at Dubby's Fishing and Hunting are prohibited and will be grounds for disqualification. (REMEMBER LIVE FISH WEIGH MORE)
  16. Teams must respect others on the water and off. No crowding and no harassing other teams.
  17. Absolutely no teaming up, no buddy system and no transferring of fish from one boat or vehicle to another.
  18. If your team forfeits and leaves before weigh in they must call the tournament organizer at departure location and return team tokens to Dubby’s Fishing and Hunting. All teams need to be accounted for after the tournament for safety reasons.
  19. Fish disposal is your responsibility. Please do so respectfully. If you do not eat them see if some on else may want them. NO DUMPING OF DEAD FISH BACK INTO THE WATER.
  20. Any participant involved in poor sportsmanship, heated arguments or similar behavior will have their team warned or disqualified at DFnH staff option. We will not allow any altercation, including inappropriate cursing of others before, during or after the tournament. All TEAMS involved will be warned or disqualified regardless of fault. You are guilty by involvement. Zero tolerance.
  21. Any physical altercations by participants will result in the team being disqualified and banned from any future DFnH Tournaments and will be asked to leave immediately.
  22. No alcohol or drugs permitted, before, during or after our tournament. If you are perceived under the influence you will not be allowed to enter or will be disqualified. Final determination of a disputed claim will be determined by local on-call law enforcement.
  23. VDGIF is working with us and will notify us of any complaints and incidents on the water. Any citation will be called in to DFnH staff and get you disqualified.
  24. DFnH has the right to change and enforce rules as deemed necessary and has the right to deny entry and/or disqualify any team at any time for any reason as they see fit to preserve safety and the integrity of our tournament.
  25. Failure to comply with tournament rules will result in disqualification and entry fee will be forfeited.
  26. The decision of tournament results will be final.
  27. Any accusation of a team cheating must be accompanied by a $100 protest fee and concrete evidence of such. Photos, videos, proof of citation etc. If tournament staff agrees with your protest, the protest fee will be refunded and the accused team will be disqualified.
  28. DFnH Tournament staff will have final decision on all protest claims and complaints.
